Women in Philanthropy British Art Portfolio Exhibition 2021 On Wednesday 1st December, Women in Philanthropy hosted our first event of 2021; this was also our first in-person event since January 2020. Due to the pandemic, the WiP journey for the groups chosen for 2021 was delayed and membership monies were donated to the Covid 19 Fund at the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Community Foundation. We were delighted that the three groups, Hospice Hope, Eyres Monsell Club and MADMAC, were able to begin their WiP journey at last. Our event was held on the last night of the British Art Portfolio’s 10th Anniversary exhibition hosted at East Langton Grange. We would like to thank Louise Newton and Amanda Lowther of the British Art Portfolio for supporting us and raising over £1000 for Women in Philanthropy; this will help us to support charities and groups across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
At the event, members of WiP and representatives from our three charities had the opportunity to catch up whilst admiring beautiful pieces of artwork. Each charity gave a presentation and talked about how their work had been affected by the pandemic and how they adapted to new ways of helping people in their local communities. It was a fantastic event and we look forward to working with Eyres Monsell Club, Hospice Hope and MADMAC throughout 2022.
